Mission statement

In 2023, Omar founded Existential Pictures, which is an independent, non-commercial production company. The mission statement of Existential Pictures is to produce films that depict spiritual journeys and existential crises (and their attempted, though not always successful, resolution)  in an artistic and intellectual way. The target audience is  a psychological-minded and philosophically inclined one that seeks intellectual stimulation and spiritual inspiration.

To make films that inspire and transform individuals, especially those who are in search of a deeper meaning in their lives.  We hope that our films will intrigue and inspire audiences, filmmakers, and creatives  from any field who want to get involved in our projects. It wold be great to collaborate with other writers, producers, and directors to bring our vision to life.

Approach

​

Our films are  based on existential topics; research and theory from both psychology and philosophy forms a foundation for the scripts. Inspiration is drawn from existential and psychological literature, and references to key philosophical works and religious narratives/symbols are used throughout the stories. There is no clear-cut moral to the stories, and they are not meant to prescribe a solution but rather to provoke audiences' thinking around these topics.
